John was born in Port Elizabeth and schooled in George and Oudtshoorn, he completed his training in Port Elizabeth. He is married to ‘Tjoekie’ who has been the love of his life since the age of 13. The family moved to Consolidated Diamond Mines in Namibia when their baby Elton was 6 months old. They stayed there for 8 years, during which time their daughter Lynn was born. They later moved Mossel Bay.

John has been in the construction business for 28 years, managing multimillion rand contracts of different sites. After successfully completing the electrical services at the Mossel Bay Golf Estate, the family relocated to Langebaan, where John has been involved in the LCE project from its inception 5 years ago. Says John: “I have a good understanding of people’s needs and frustrations - from worker to clients – which really helps in this post, and I have always believed in the LCE project and want to contribute towards making it a big success.”

When not working John’s hobbies are flying micro-lights (aerial photography) and sailing, he also loves spending time with Jahred (5) and Johnathan (3), his grandsons.

John brings with him a wealth of knowledge, wisdom and patience, which are essential requirements in running a Construction Company the size of Keyway.
