Neville
Eriksen our new Food & Beverage Manager,
has had a busy start since joining Langebaan
Country Estate 3 months ago. Neville’s
brief was to ensure a friendly environment
which would be attractive to members,
visitors and guests alike - a task he
is presently excelling in.
Neville has overseen the rebranding
of the restaurant, which is called Horizon
- highlighting its spectacular views
of the Lagoon and its surrounds. The
cocktail bar has been renamed ‘Blaze
Bar’ – encapsulating the
spectacular sunsets that can be enjoyed
there.
One of Neville’s first tasks
was to employ new Chef Charl Gildenhuys
(see accompanying profile). Together
with Charl he has devised a number of
initiatives, including the Wednesday
Night Special, the aim of the evening
being to offer guests great value for
money - adults pay less than R50 for
a meal and

children under
12 less than R20. The first three such evenings
proved to be a huge success, attracting over
60 people per evening. Word is spreading fast
through Langebaan that this is a great evening
for the family!
In addition to this the Friday
Pizza Special and Sunday Roast remain very popular
options. Horizon restaurant also provides Full
English and Continental Breakfasts, these being
aimed at the guests of the Lodges and Ellefsen
Golf Suites as a bed and breakfast option. All
members and visitors are also welcome to partake
in this offering! Tea, coffee and a variety
of cakes will be served throughout the day.
During the upcoming season
Horizon will be open Monday to Saturday, offering
a variety of affordable favourites (click
here for menu). Opening time will be 07h00,
with the kitchen closing at 21h00. Once the
season is over, the same menu will be provided
on Friday and Saturday nights. The popular Sunday
Lunchtime Roast is also on offer throughout
the season and beyond.
The Blaze Bar with friendly
barmen Andrew and Alex is open daily from 12h00
until 22h00, serving your favourite drinks and
cocktails.
Neville has also been very
busy organising a number of conferences, weddings
(see wedding testimonial), birthday parties
and private dinners.
